IPATH Northwest Trip.

My battery died out a week prior to this trip while I was in SF. Got it charged in Seattle on the second day so here we are in Seattle after a long drive straight from SF.

Sabback and Puleo....yawn. this blog is already boring.

Oh wait! We did have a celebrity among us. Its Michael J. Fox!

Glen Danzig, aka Fred Gall when skating.

John Trippe was there as well to blog the hell out of this trip.

Marshall from Manik Skateboards was nice enough to show us around and provide some ledge butta.

Puleo getting his back-t on.

Then I found my true love, Honey Dew Cheese Curls.

It must be weird if you are not a skateboarder and you see a bunch of grown dudes looking at a handrail.

Nilton was on the trip too. Hmm. I think he was sporting a new look.

Oh by the way, we stayed at this amazing house thanks to Jill Hansen (owner of the Skatebarn.)

Nilton getting his tan on.

Then out of nowhere the "traveler" showed up. As usuall he was sporting a new hat from his recent travels. or maybe it was from urban outfitters.

Getting our brush on. Is that Matt Rodriguez? Oh yeah, he's on the trip too. I'm only on a trip with some of my favorite skateboarders.

Team photo.

Puleo and Reed.

After a bunch of shredding and documentation we were off to Portland. Sabback was getting cabin (van) fever.

After a short drive we had to get our grub on

Once we got to Portland and got some grub Barker was happy. Barker was the TM on this trip.

Next morning it was raining.

Found out that little Trippy got pick pocketed the night before. He asked me for some change and I gave him a dirty look.

Pat Smith sighting.

Coda team was there too.

Kruger was documenting the Coda trip. I felt like I was right back home in NYC.

Kruger's Fishy

Burnside dawgs.

It was raining all day so I walked around looking for spots.

Rain.

Next day was dry and we were ready to roll. Quim's set up.

Quim time.

Pre-demo grub hunt.

Danger sighting

Mike Chin sighting.

Osage Buffalo sighting. He taught me how to "floss", a fishing technique they use up in the river to catch salmon. its pretty interesting.

This doesn't really show how good Barker is on ramps but...

Can you see Barkers portrait on the wall?

Jack's smelly feet.

Podiatrist view.

Karl and Matt flew in like rockstars for the demo. I think they were on the IPATH private jet.

Sabback and Reed

Karl and Nilton

L.J. showed up too. L.J. and Nilton

Later that night we went to a bar to see Nate Jones band play. They drove up to Portland in their own van the night before.

Nate's set up.

Wilburn was there killing it as usuall but this time it was on the pool table. I think he beat my ass twice.

Trippy taking a blogging break with Sabback.

Mike Fox and I chowed down on someone's leftover nachos. PBMH (Poor Broke Media Heads.)

Choppy sighting.

My new friend and I started our own group. DKU (Deaf Kids United.) We already got sued by DGK for using the letters D and K in our name. Apparently they own the copyrights to the letters D and K.

Later that night we went to a party where we were told, "dude, there going to be a bunch of chicks there!" They turned out to be a bunch of lesbians. Pretty much barking up the wrong tree.

The next day some peeps were pretty much useless.

Being a Pile.

I think everyone was hungover.

but some of us still had to shoot photos and get 'er done.

Mike Fox was just happy to be going home that night.

Rodriguez was still being funny.

Reed wearing my hat. I later lost it as I was leaving the hotel/Portland. Hmmm... Kenny sure did like my hat.

Reed chowing down before leaving.

Later that night Puleo and I took the red eye back to NYC.

Next morning I was so excited to be back that I took a picture of this building as the sun was rising

As I rolled up to my neighborhood I spotted my neighbor basking in the sun.

9:25 PM

Took a short flight from Helsinki to London and arrived in Stansfield. Had to take a train in to town.

First thing I did was meet my friend Saba and went straight to the pub to watch a World Cup match. This became a ritual for me the past week especially when England was playing.

Tony Manfre

I tried to play tourist even though I was busy shooting photos everyday.

Josh Stewart and Charlie.

Ill Will

They love futball (soccer) here.

The view from the apartment I stayed at. Thanks Josh.

I went to our new friend Henry's Birthday party. It was in a basement of some pub.
Olly Todd at home.

Sam Ashley.

Michael J. Fox

It got a little crazy down there.

Howard Cook!

I like the new Sam Ashley. a little bit of R&B with a thugish edge to it.

Its getting a little hot in here.

Happy Birthday Henry!

Next night I was introduced to my new favorite restaurant. S&M Cafe. It stands for Sausages and Mash....or something like that.
Seth and Charlie.

Jacob and Will

Yum...check them veggie sausages and mash potatoes with baked beans.

Did you know they like Futbol here?

We hung out with Lampard

Arrrgh! Three Lions representation.

Game time.

Goal!!!

It ended up being a tie with Sweeden.
Fast FWD to next day shredding with Mr. Jensen.

Later that night hanging out with our new Sweedish friends. They were celebrating "Midsummer." It was Summer Solstice.

Huh?

American tourist.

Puleo and some balls.

Sunset.

Met up with some English friends. Some American friends turned up out of nowhere too. We played some Futball. I sucked.

England!

uh...England!! lots of flags here.

Walking somewhere in London and heard, "Brian Uyeda!" It was my friend Lia from Santa Cruz. It's been ten years since I've seen her last.

Went to meet up with Manfre and some other dudes in Brixton. Shit was ghetto. These kids....we'll call them little shits one,two and three

And little shit number four. They kept yelling at Tony everytime he rolled up to this big 21 stair hubba. It really stressed out Tony and made it a little bit sketchier when he was trying to grind this hubba. Check out the upcoming issue of Skateboarder for photo.

Went to the vice bar later that night. Its a bar that got bought by Vice magazine. The locs just call it Vice bar now.
Vaughn was tearing up the dance floor.

These kids made me feel like I was back at home in the LES.

This guy is like a Terry Richardson and Jason Dill clone.

Deeli is a photographer from Kingpin. Photographers are supposed to be competitive and territorial, not friendly.

Next morning I caught a flight back to Helsinki...

8:32 PM

Some highlights from last month's trip to Finland. Thanks Natty and Chia.

Streetplant sesh.

Mall grab. Please kids, don't try this at home.

Finland fashion is hot!

Smokin'

My friend Greg asked me to come over on Sunday to participate in this short film he was making.

Here is Greg smoking. He filmed numerous friends smoking. He's got some cool ideas up his sleave for this project. Stay tuned.

The set up behind the camera.

I like this light set up here.

It was getting a little smokey in there. I had to get some fresh air.

I came back in and went in to the recording studio (next door to the shoot.) I had to conduct tryouts to find a new drummer for my band.

I think they are making this in to a reality TV show. Its called "Making the Band."

I'm sorry kids. none of you are rock star material.

You notice how much "stage presence" I have? It can't be learned. You are either born with it or not.

Here is Yasha doing a solo

Yasha's twin sister, Miriam.

Liane.

She was feelin' it.

Right after we decided to be a band and call our selves "Yo Mutha," a fight broke out and Yasha quit the band.

I decided it would be cool to quit too.

12:10 AM

Krooked Premiere.

Krooked premiere was on Saturday evening.

I rode my bike across the Manhattan bridge as the sun was setting.

It was great to see a good turn out. We all got to watch most of the video. Then the police came and shut it down. I guess they couldn't give us 5 more minutes. It was a matter of National Security.

I saw Bobby Worrest and his lady there. He had had a sweet part in the video.

I also saw some old friends from my hippy days in Santa Cruz.

My friend Joe and I decided to back over to Brooklyn via Williamsburg bridge.

Girls in NYC are mean. They always keep flippin' me off.

We all went to some loft dance party. Little view of Williamsburg from the roof.

BOATERHEAD.

It was Boatwright's bday last weekend. met up at Motorcity.

Damian was DJing

Some couple going at it in front of Motorcity. A friend walked out of the bar and said, "Awesome, this is better then HBO porn!"
This is the PG version

PG-13 Version

Angela and some Aussie.

I think this is a peace sign in Norway.

Kevin was there.

He was trying to show me his new buckle. TFL. can anyone guess what that stands for? I'm guessing Tag Football League.
Easy kids, I'm kidding.

This "dancer" tried to kick Boaterhead out of the bar after some bottles were "accidently" dropped and smashed. Little did she know about Boaterheads mafia connections in Detroit.

My English friends showed up. This is Fos. He's just as cool as the Fonz.

My friend Sam stayed with me this week as well. It was his last night before he went back to London.

POPWAR "Just Like US" tour.

Stubes and I caught the BART train to the SFO airport.

Met up with the rest of the gang in Phoenix

Amy Caron aka as Carebear.

Kenny Reed too busy to greet me at the Phoenix airport.

Southwestern skies

Team Meeting.

it aint a shwarma but Kenny was hungry.

getting rad on the air guitar

Holy Cow. Luther and the Healers!

This is what happens when I leave my camera in the van while the others go to Taco Cabana.

Some sleazy hotel we ended up staying in Houston. Apparently there was almost no vacancies due to the NBA Allstar game going on in Houston that weekend.

Roomin' with the "traveler."
slumber party?

Carebear don't care for skating in freezing temps.

After some crazy ice storm in southern Texas we woke up and had some icy roads to drive on. Most peeps in Texas don't know about driving in ice/snow.

so we saw a lot of accidents and stuff.

The "Dude."

It's where the top athletes eat. Breakfast of Champions?

We are switching to digital? Sweet. No more flash setups, film, tons of gear, or waiting to get the film back.

Let's just say I couldn't really eat here. Mac n Cheese?

The "Dude" making it happen. Me: I'm just standing around and figuring out my angle of course.

Why is it windy in Oklahoma City? Because Arkansas sucks and Texas blows. Ha.Ha.

Where does Danny Way get his crazy ideas?

Why skateboarders come to New Mexico.

I can't imagine Chad driving like an asshole. He's only the nicest dude I know.

Dang check out that big ass cross off the highway.

We were all stoked on this kid's skating and his shirt. Then the "Dude" noticed that the kid wasn't even born when this Ratt tour took place. The back of the shirt was labled RATT TOUR 1986. How old are you??

Sitting on the plane as the sun disappears over the horizon. The end of another skate tour.

The trip might be over but that aint stoppin' the party. Bloody Marys?

Party ended when the next stewardess refused to serve drinks on our connecting flight. zzzz for me.

10:16 AM

This fool on the right is big JUDD also known as "big papa." He is a famous artist. I hear he's big in Japan. If you get a chance buy this kid's art and you'll thank me for it later.

Don't give him any drinks though. He might do handstands on your coffee table.

Miss you Judd.
